katherina + fran ~ a boston seaside wedding

When we met Katherina and Fran they were in the early stages of planning their wedding and had yet to settle on the location.  They tossed around the idea of throwing the party in Miami, but really loved Boston’s North End which holds a special place in Fran’s heart as he has roots there.  After meeting with them we (Enna) became very inspired to help them find the right venue. They wanted to be married at St. Leonard’ Church in Boston’s North End, and they also knew that they wanted to have a lobster/clam bake on the beach.  Quite the challenge, right?  Thompson Island turned out to be just right.  The Solemn Latin mass with a Gregorian choir was absolutely beautiful (though hot!).  Katherina and Fran included their love story and many wonderful tales about themselves and their guests in the 32-page program – this booklet is such a fun and sentimental souvenir from their wedding!   After the ceremony the guests were transported via trolley to the waterfront (led by the accordian player Alex) and took a ferry to the island where everyone dined on lobster, fine wine, enjoyed sporting activities, and ended the evening with a sunset cruise on the harbor on the crazy fast Codzilla. I think Katherina and Fran blurred the line between “romantic wedding day” and “let’s have some crazy fun” amazingly well:)

Eva & Matt : a stonehurst wedding

Meet Eva and Matt. Two foodies that live in awesome Jamaica Plain. If you follow our blog you may recall their engagement session that was cut short outside due to a hail storm and ended up inside with them cooking me a fabulous meal. Now I get to share these images from their wedding day with you:) Eva and Matt were wed at the Stonehurst Estate in Waltham MA. The day was as beautiful as the love and support they receive from their friends and family. Congratulations Eva and Matt, it was an honor to be there for you:)

Eva - What can we say? The photos are exquisite! You beautifully captured all of the big moments, but even more special are all of the little touches and looks that you captured in between. What a gift to be able to experience the wedding again from a different angle – from the hands of our mothers, the eyes of all of our friends and family. Thank you for everything Matt – it was a blast to work with you! I think I will end this comment now, so that I can go back to pouring over the photos =)

Danna - Wow!! Those are simply exquisite pictures–really gorgeous, and it brings back memories of not only such a happy event but also the events, pre and post-wedding. Of course, the photographer had a really beautiful couple with whom to work.

(And Eva’s second calling has to be that of wedding coordinator–everything was perfection!)

Much love, Danna and Daniel (and Emily and Steven)

Mattion Grazier - Thank you all! I’m glad you like the Irene:) I try to keep the blog postings short so I tend to focus mostly on the couple getting married. I’m sure Jon and Rachel are in the private online gallery:) ~ Cheers ~

M.I.T. Celebrates Ed Scolnick

The event planners at MIT invited Enna and I to document a very special evening for one of their luminaries – Ed Scolnick.  We were fascinated to learn about this scientific visionary.  His work covers a diverse array of diseases and their treatments including HIV/AIDS, Cervical Cancer, Hepatitis B, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder and many others – when his colleagues began speaking we knew we were among greatness.

Meeting Ed and seeing the love, support, and respect he received was inspiring! He was celebrated throughout the day by several presenters who spoke of his vision, determination, risk-taking, decisive leadership style, and amazing ability to mentor. After the presentations and reception MIT gave the Scolnick family a private dinner party where they celebrated Ed’s birthday as well as his wife’s birthday. MIT’s in-house event planner/coordinator Lindsay Wetmore and East Meets West Catering did an amazing job!  We were very flattered that MIT asked us to bring our style of photography to this event, and honored to be there for the Scolnick family.

Lauren & Matt : a crane estate wedding

Lauren and Matt celebrated their wedding at the Crane Estate in Ispwich MA. The event was catered by Vinwood Catering with flowers by Mugford’s and a cake by Gerardo’s.  It was a gorgeous day with a bright blue sky and the guests danced the night away to the music of Soul City in the estate’s ballroom. Lauren was glowing and it was a joy to watch her revel in her special day.:)

Erinn & Jamie : a cape cod wedding

Erinn and Jamie had a beautiful wedding at a private waterfront home on Cape Cod. The event was planned by the always energetic Connie Nye Clark of The Perfect Plan event planning. Fortunately everyone was under the tent and partying by the time the heavy clouds burst and they were so busy dancing I don’t even now if the party noticed the rain coming down!!Enna and I had a blast and loved seeing how enthusiastic their family and friends were to be their supporting them:)

Check out a small selection from the day:
