Meaghan & Matt | a copley fairmont plaza wedding

We recently photographed Meaghan and Matt’s gorgeous wedding at the Boston Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Everyone present was full of joy all day long, and I don’t think there was a single moment when Meaghan did not have that big smile on her face. As you saw in the sneek peak photo in the previous post, they had the creative team of Unique Weddings by Alexis to help plan the day and take care of all the logistics on the day of. With that kind of support how can you not smile?!

Meaghan and Matt met in high school here in Massachusetts and starting dating when they were sophomores. Their story began when Matt called about 15 families with the same last name as Meaghan’s until he reached her so he could ask her out on a date! They went separate ways for college but kept in touch and picked up their relationship right where they left off as soon as they graduated. They moved in together in a beautiful neighborhood of Charlestown and shortly after settling in they became parishioners at St. Mary’s in Charlestown. They decided to have a Boston themed wedding and exchanged their vows at their church, and even invited their own pastor to give the wedding mass. For the reception they wanted elegance, and they knew right where to find it – The Fairmont Copley Plaza – and here’s the kicker, almost exactly 10 years ago to the day, they danced in the same ballroom for their senior prom. How cool is that?! Meaghan told us that on the night of their prom they confessed to each other how much they were in love, and that moment from 10 years ago was on their minds as they celebrated their marriage with a first dance on the same dance floor.

Matt sang his heart out with the band to one of his favorite Springsteen songs, Glory Days, and to Matt’s great surprise, RC Uplighting set off a confetti bomb over the crowd as Matt was jumping off the stage at the end of the song!
