Jennifer & Chris | A Gibbet Hill Wedding

Meet Jennifer and Chris! They forged a relationship and fell in love after being introduced by roommates in Cambridge and spending nights challenging each other to XBox games only to realize after a while that it wasn’t the games they liked, it was each other’s company. As it happens, they grew up in neighboring towns and both attended the New England Conservatory prep school every weekend while in high school (Chris for trumpet and Jen for piano), and probably bumped into each other at some point there, of course never knowing that they’d eventually be married. On a cold and rainy December evening, an “unfortunate” set of circumstances (independently arranged, as it turned out, by both of them) ”forced” them to have to share an umbrella for a walk down to the local watering hole, straying behind the rest of the friends they were with. This was the moment when Chris asked Jen out for their first date. Since that moment they have been enjoying cooking together, going to concerts, and hiking. To the best of my knowledge the Xbox stayed behind with the roommates.

It is their love of cooking that led them to choose The Barn at Gibbet Hill for their wedding venue. The venue uses fresh and local produce and has a beautiful and elegant barn perfect for weddings. Although a small rain shower just before the start of the ceremony moved everything inside, it was a beautiful day and the rain cleared after the ceremony just in time for photos outside.
